A significant portion of the world’s oil and gas reservoirs is in various degrees of unconsolidation with extensive sanding problems. The problems are observed in both production and injection wells in the oil industries. Similar problems are observed in CO2 injectors and wastewater injectors in CCS (Carbon Capture Storage) and wastewater management industries. These problems include plugging the perforations and formations of production and injection wells, plugging the downhole screens and the gravel pack, surface facility erosion, and collapse of borehole and cased hole.
