The present study of Lower Kimmeridgian biostratigraL ^ H phy in Poland is based on the following ammonites: Ataxioceras, Ne114 brodites, Katroliceras, Glochiceras, Streblites, Taramelliceras, Idoceras, Sutneria, Orthosphinctes, Lithacoceras, Aspidoceras, Amoeboceras, Ringsteadia, Rasenia, Pictonia, and Zonovia. The analysis of this fauna confirms that the Lower Kimmeridgian sediments in Poland, also in its northern parts, have rightly been subdivided into the following three zones: the lower one — Sutneria platynota, the middle one — Ataxioceras hypselocyclum, and the upper one — Katroliceras divisum (partly).

В настоящем сборнике помещены статьи польских ученых, обобщающие результаты изучения сдвижений горных пород и земной поверхности под влиянием горных разработок на каменноугольных месторождениях Польши.
Рассматривается форма мульды сдвижения и выводятся формулы для расчета величины сдвижений.
Книга рассчитана на инженерно-технических и научных работников предприятий угольной промышленности.

В книге приведены результаты исследований советских геоморфологов рельефа зарубежных стран: Вьетнама, Китая, МНР, Кубы, Польши и ГДР. Освещены вопросы морфоструктуры — морфоскульптуры в зоне влажных тропиков, аридных районов Центральной Азии и перигляциальных районов Северной и Центральной Европы.

В сборнике представлены статьи, посвященные последним достижениям в изучении раннего кембрия Европы (в основном Польши) и СССР (от Прибалтики до Дальнего Востока). В первом, биостратиграфическом, разделе особое внимание уделено проблеме нижней (с вендом) и верхней (со средним кембрием) границам нижнего кембрия. Во втором, палеонтологическом, разделе описываются ранее не известные формы самых различных групп фауны и флоры раннего кембрия.

Die Studie der Art Exogyra sigmoidea REUSS, 1844 aus der Brandungsfazien der böhmischen Kreide ist ein Teil der vorbereiteten Monogralie über die Familie Ostreidae. Ausser den einführenden Kapiteln und dem biostratigrafischen Teil mit Beschreibung der Lokalitäten, wurde die Aufmerksamkeit hauptsächlich der Morfologie, Ontogenesis, Variabilität, Ökologie, den Mikrostrukturen und dem Bau der Gehäuse der studierten Art gewidmet. Da der Holotypus nicht festgestellt wurde, wurde aus dem Topotyp-Material der Neotypus ausgesucht und abgebildet und diagnostische Merkmale angeführt, durch welche sich die Art Exogyra sigmoidea REUSS von einigen verwandten Arten unterscheidet [Exogyra reticulata REUSS, 1846 und Exogyra haliotoidea

For several decades a team of specialists from the field of paleontology has been acting in the Geological Institute. The team has gathered rich material of fossil fauna and flora from drillings and outcrops in several parts of the country (Polish Lowlands, Silesian-Cracow Upland, the Gory Swietokrzyskie Mts and the Carpathians).

Analythical results of studies of the above team of the Geological Institute, especially those obtained in the course of paleontological and biostratigraphic expertises, have as far as possible been published, contributing to the Polish and world biostratigraphic literature. This made it necessary for the Geological Institute, the oldest and biggest centre of geological sciences in the country, to undertake works aimed at gathering museum collections and synthetize most important biostratigraphic information dispersed in various sources.

Works on monograph Atlas skamienialosci przewodnich i chardktery sty cznych, the third volume of Budowa Geologiczna Polski and the first position of that type compiled in our country, were initiated in 1971. The team of researchers of the Geological Institute and the invited specialists from other research centres in the country which took part in that project has been led by Doc. Dr. Lidia Ma-linowska (Head of Laboratory of Paleozoology of Department of Stratigraphy, Tectonics and Paleogeography, Geological Institute) as the General Editor. Thanks to the deep concern of the General Editor, section editors, authors and editorial teams of the Department of Publications, Maps and Text (Geological Institute) and the Publishing House Wydawnictwa Geologiczne, it became possible to publish first of Mesozoic parts of Polish version of the monograph as early as 1979.

Presenting Mesozoic part of the monograph to the foreign Reader, the Geological Institute dedicates this publication unique in Polish geological literature to our paleontologists such as J. B. Pusch-Korenski, J. Siemiradzki, L. Zej-szner, M. Raciborski and others who laid foundations for major achievements of Polish biostratigraphy

This  geological excursion to Poland has realized as a result of the scientific cooperation and exchange between INSTITUTE OF GEOLOGY AND PALEONTOLOGY, UNIVERSITY OF TUBINGEN, and INSTITUTE OF GEOLOGY,  UNIVERSITY OF WARSAW.The program of  the excursion includes presentation of  the structures strictly comparable  in our two  countries,  as  exemplified by some Paleozoic and Mesozoic sequences of  the Holy Cross Mountains,  as well as of  the structures different  in their type of  development,  as exemplified by the Neogeae sequence of   the Fore-Carpathian Depression. To make better opportunities for studying  the selected sections,   this  very   FIELD-GUIDE is presented to our best colleagues and friends.
