Current topics in structural geology / Актуальные темы в структурной геологии
This Special Issue marks the tenth anniversary of the very first issue of the Journal of Structural Geology. The idea of a specialist journal in structural geology was first conceived at a meeting in September 1977 between Paul Hancock of Bristol University and Peter Henn of Pergamon Press. In June 1978 Paul Hancock formally became Editor-in-Chief, joined soon after by Tony Barber as Associate Editor. They then recruited an Editorial Advisory Board and called for papers for the first volume. Those who responded by submitting papers to a then-unknown new journal are still remembered with gratitude, because by showing their faith they started the ball rolling <...>1. Earthquake faulting as a structural process
2. Normal faulting in the upper continental crust: observations from regions of active extension
3. From orientation to magnitudes in paleostress determinations using fault slip data
4. The origin of S-C mylonites and a new fault-zone model
5. The origin of metamorphic core complexes and detachment faults formed during Tertiary continental extension in the northern Colorado River region, U.S.A.
6. Tectonics and hydrogeology of accretionary prisms: role of the decollement zone
7. Structural aspects of suspect terranes and accretionary tectonics in western North America
8. Deformation mechanisms—recognition from natural tectonites
9. Coupled grain-scale dilatancy and mass transfer during deformation at high fluid pressures: examples from Mount Lyell, Tasmania
10. Synkinematic microscopy of transparent polycrystals
11. Development of shape and lattice preferred orientations: application to the seismic anisotropy of the lower crust
