The first part of the present series of papers on the invertebrates, X chiefly ammonites, of the Jurassic and Cretaceous of East Greenland dealt with the Ilectoroceras Fauna of South-West Jameson Land; and though it was finished before war broke out in 1939, the paper was not published till eight years later. In it l made reference to certain other faunas which were waiting to be dealt with, such as a new Cadoceras fauna from Jameson Land, a Crariocephalites fauna from Traill 01), and an assemblage of various species of Amoeboceras which in East Greenland characterized the end of the Oxfordian and the beginning of the Kimmeridgian stages. All the fossil material just referred to was brought hack by the East Greenland Expeditions between 1926 and 1939 under the leadership of Dr. Lauge Koch ; but it is not proposed to deal with those faunas now. For while the material involved, and especially the ammonites are of considerable interest, unfortunately no more exact stratigraphical evidence has come to hand than was available before. <...>
