The Cephalopod Fauna of theCarhagaBeds (Upper Tithonian-Lower Barremian) The Carhaga Beds represcnt a pelagic to hemipelagic, mostly marly formation, alloclithonous with respect to the basemenl of ils outocrop-area'which is restricted to the central part of the Perçani Mountains (East Carpathians). This formation is divisible into five members : (1) marly with interbedded siliceous maris, benthonites and breccia layers built up of fragments Of chrystalline schists (Upper Jurassic) ; (2) marly with interbedded marly-limestones and calcarenites as lenses (passage beds from the Tithonian to the Berriasian) ; (3) calcarenitic with brown cherts ; (4) marly with interbedded marly limestones with calpionellids (Berriasian) ; (5) marly (Valanginian, Hauterivian and passage beds from the Hauterivien to the Barremien). <...>
