The chemistry of the elements in aqueous solution is a very important aspect of the chemistry discipline because of its numerous applications in many sciences, applied sciences, engineering fields, and technologies. Years ago, much of the subject matter was taught in courses under the title of qualitative analysis. But those courses disappeared and in many universities, nothing replaced the loss of subject matter.
